I haven't written anything on here in a while. It seems my 3 day weekend is almost over again. Time goes so fast when you are off work and so slow when you are at work. Seems like I wish my life away, working for the weekend.
I spent Friday running errands. The PS4 came down in price so I went to look for one with the Batman game. They have new bundles coming out so I was worried that the Batman ones would be sold out before Black Friday. I couldn't find one anywhere in town so I ended up ordering one from NewEgg and got a free game with it. It will be here next week.
I also went to Home Depot and got a new Ryobi One + drill and reciprocating saw. I also got other things that I need to do some repair work around the house.
Saturday I wanted to get a few jobs done around the house. I started with the gate project. I made an anti-sag kit of my own since Home Depot didn't have any in stock. Once I attached everything, I realized that the idiot that built the fence had totally messed up the gate. The gate was all warped and crooked and wouldn't shut. I ended up spending all afternoon reworking the gate and now it latches and closes nicely. It is a big 4 foot wide gate. I could have done a better job with the decorative piece of fence that covers the post but my circular saw was acting weird (may just need a new blade) and I ended up using the jigsaw. I wasn't happy with the final piece but it does the job for now. I'll buy another fence board when I get time and replace it. I need to get some of those anyway to make doors for my shed that need replacing.
So after spending the day working on the gate, now it's 5 am and I can't sleep because I'm sore. I just can't do the stuff I used to and when I do projects, I give it my all which leaves me in pain for a few days after. The fact that I work a desk job and don't exercise like I should doesn't help.
So I came to a conclusion today while I was fixing my gate and cussing the guy that screwed it up in the first place. I've learned a lot about woodwork type stuff since it was done. Back then I had no clue he'd screwed it up. It worked at that moment and for about 6 months and then it went all wonky. Anyway, I came to the conclusion that I don't really need a man for these types of jobs. Seems like when I get men to do things, they usually screw it up and I have to figure out how to fix it. They mean well but it doesn't always work out. My friend 's hubby seems to know what he is doing and he has really taught me a lot. He also helped with the fence in the back and it is great (not the same guy that did this part of the fence in the front). I have gotten some advice from male friends that seem to know something and have good ideas, so maybe I was made some bad judgement errors on male friends in the past except for the one.
Now that I think about it, yeah, really bad decisions on some ex-friends. One later became my stalker that wants to be a girl now. He isn't bothering me as much as he used to. Maybe he is finally getting the hint that the friendship has been over for 3 years and it is over and done with. I don't want to be part of his life any more and just want to be left alone. I don't know what is so hard to understand about that. I definitely don't miss having to pick him up to do stuff and cooking for him and arranging rides for him when he occasionally ran a D&D game. It's nice to have independent friends that can drive themselves and have their own money for stuff. I can just call them up to meet for coffee or lunch or whatever and they can meet me there. Feels like I finally made it to the adult world.
Well, I guess that is enough rambling for now. It's 6 am now. Guess I'll try to sleep sometime this morning.
